This thing is so cool.  I couldn't find the switch to turn it on, so I unplugged it, and the globe fell and sat on the stand at the bottom!  It just sort of "floats" when plugged in, and will spin or whatever you want it to do! Seems to me it would be a whole lot easier to teach your children on this rather than a standard globe.
