The
Sentinel Professional, Pan-Tilt-Zoom, Indoor/Outdoor Surveillance Camera
If
you've ever searched for a video surveillance system, you know how
frustrating and expensive it can be. You've got
to select a camera, enclosure, mounting options, video monitor,
connection cables and more! And each necessary addition drives the cost
higher and higher. Before you know it, a complete system ends up
costing you thousands of dollars!
Well not any more!
Introducing the Sentinel Professional Security Surveillance System!
Finally, a complete package with all the components you need to protect
your home or business at a fraction of the cost.
For starters, the Sentinel comes
equipped with a professional-quality lens so you get optimal quality,
crystal-clear color video. Plus, you can zoom in up to 44X.
That means if you see something up to half a mile away, you can zoom in
to see it like it was right in front of your face!
Even cooler, the Sentinel works in
the daytime or at night! With StarLight Nightvision, it's
able to function in extremely low light levels (0.02 Lux). That's
round-the-clock security and total peace of mind!
With built-in precision pan
& tilt, you'll be able to control your camera to sweep left to
right and up and down. You'll have floor-to-ceiling and
wall-to-wall viewing capacity. And with the included remote, not only
can you zoom in and out, pan and tilt and switch between up to four
cameras right on your TV, but you can automatically sweep through nine
preset camera positions with the touch of a button!
To make things even better, the
Sentinel couldn't be easier to set up! First, mount it to the
wall or ceiling using the mount and screws. You can mount it indoors or
out, because the weather-resistant dome stands up to the toughest
weather.
Secondly, plug it in.
Then you have two options- either hook it up directly to your TV with
standard plug-n-play RCA cables. Or just as easy, you can go wireless.
Simply hook up the included receiver to your TV, and your Sentinel will
send wireless video to the receiver. Either way, you can watch all the
action LIVE on your TV! It's that easy!

Sentinel Camera!
Sentinel Optics
and Lens
Optical
Zoom is a far superior method of zoom. When
using optical zoom the camera is actually bringing you closer to your
subject while maintaining a high quality image. The Sentinel is
equipped with an optical zoom of 22x, which means it gets a clear and
close up view of a subject from a greater distance without letting the
quality suffer. If you want to see things near and far without image
distortion and quality loss, then a large optical zoom is what really
matters.
Instead
of bringing you closer to your subject, Digital Zoom crops and enlarges
the picture you already see. Using this method
the camera has no way of obtaining new information about the image
including the depth of field. It basically stretches what you've seen
and resizes it back down to the size of your display. This results in a
great loss in image quality, and increases the further you digitally
zoom.
StarLight Mode
in Action
With
enabled 'starlight' technology, the Sentinel is able to operate down to
extremely low light levels (0.02 Lux). The
'starlight' mode is an advanced slow-shutter setting which slows the
camera's shutter to allow in more light. Nine gradients can be
configured from x0 up to x36. The 'starlight' mode is best for
night-time scenes with low levels of motion. These include use in
astronomy and perimeter surveillance, as well as game viewing at water
holes.
Rather
than using infrared (IR), StarLight Technology uses an advanced slow
shutter setting which allows in extra light.
Many surveillance cameras, often including video baby monitors, tend to
use IR technology. Research by the Duke University Medical Center among
other studies report that IR may cause cataracts when overexposed. You
wouldn't smoke around your child, so why would you expose them to
dangerous infrared radiation? StarLight Technology uses natural light
to get the same effect, but poses none of the possible health problems
of IR.
With its technologically
advanced Starlight Mode, the X10 Sentinel PTZ Camera is ideal
for use as a baby monitor. Instead of using potentially harmful
radiation to get a clear picture, the Sentinel's Starlight Mode simply
slows the camera's shutter dramatically to let in more light, allowing
for a crystal-clear full color picture even in the darkest of rooms.
X10's
new Sentinel PTZ Security Camera video security and surveillance system
brings together the best in video surveillance capability, versatility,
and value. It's the ideal solution for small to
medium sized business owners and individuals who demand
professional-grade products with advanced features at a
blow-the-competition-away price!
We built the X10 Sentinel PTZ
camera from the ground up to include powerful features like
an incredible 44X Zoom so you can clearly see everything near or far.
Then, we gave it unmatched Pan and Tilt viewing range that you control
by remote so you'll have eyes where you need them most.
To ensure every image you saw
had the most brilliant clarity and fine detail, we gave the
Sentinel PTZ Surveillance Camera a high-resolution color CCD sensor and
the highest-quality optics. We also we gave it an Automatic Iris that
adjusts to changes in light so you can see in the widest range of
lighting conditions - all the way down to 1.5 lux.
To top it off, we
put the Sentinel in an optically-clear weather-resistant dome so it
would work as well for outdoor use as it does inside. And wherever you
decide to mount it, we've made it hassle-free by providing everything
you need to easily attach it to a wall or ceiling.
With X10's new Sentinel PTZ
security and surveillance camera, you'll also find
innovations that will make your installation worries virtually vanish.
Your video connection comes with a standard RCA video cable that you
can connect to any standard TV and you even have the option to transmit
video without wires for an even easier setup.

Sentinel Optics
and Lens
The picture you get from a Sentinel camera is
not just good, it's fantastic! Thanks to
pro-quality optics and a high-resolution CCD image sensor, you'll be
guaranteed a crystal clear picture with brilliant color. And as you
pan, tilt and zoom your Sentinel, the smart automatic focus and iris
actively adjust everything so you see with all the brilliance and fine
detail possible.
Our 22x optical zoom lens
offers an f-number of 1.6 - 3.7, F=85.1mm.
What do these numbers mean
for you?
f1.6 - 3.7: The
f-number is the way that you measure the capability of a lens to
collect light, also known as the focal ratio. It's the unit of
measurement for the camera's aperture range, or the amount that the
lens can open up or close down to let in more or less light. A good
lens will collect more light and filter the concentrated ray to the CCD
sensor; generally, the lower the f-number, the more light it collects
and the better images you receive. An f-number of f1.6 - 3.7 means that
the pupil diameter is equal to the focal length divided by 1.6 (in a
brightly lit place) to 3.7 (in a dimly lit place); that is, if the
camera has an 85.1mm lens (like the Sentinel), all the light that
reaches the film passes through a circle that is 53.2 - 23 mm (85.1
mm/1.6 up to 85.1mm/3.7) in diameter, depending on the level of light
reaching the camera.
F=3.7 - 85.1mm: F
is the measurement of the focal length of the lens; the focal length is
what determines a camera's angle of view. The Sentinel lens has a focal
length of 3.7-85.1mm, which is a very wide range for a camera. This is
easily explained, however: since the Sentinel can pan a full 280
degrees and tilt up to 60 degrees, the angle of view is not limited by
the size of the lens, it's only limited by the pan and tilt range.
Since the Sentinel is not limited in its field of view like most
stationary cameras, it can't really be qualified as a telephoto or wide
angle lens. The Sentinel's field of view is limited only by how far it
can pan and tilt (a combined 330 degrees), not the focal length of the
lens itself.
We've equipped the Sentinel
with the best lens so you can get exactly the picture you need to see.
Since the Sentinel is a professional grade camera we made sure the pros
could tweak all the settings manually, so the remote includes buttons
for manual focus and iris adjustment. A host of other camera settings
can be controlled using the onscreen menus as well; at X10, we provide
everything you need for maximum convenience and total security.
Sentinel Focus
and Iris
Automatic
Adjust: Continuously adjusts to give you a clear and bright picture in
the widest range of lighting conditions. As you
Pan, Tilt and Zoom your Sentinel, the smart automatic Focus and Iris
actively adjust everything so you see with all the brilliance and fine
detail possible.
