WW1 M1915 German Jager zu Pferd Helmet. This helmet is in average condition. It was recently picked up from a local collector. It is 90% complete and only lacks the liner string and original leather chinstrap or scales to make it 100%. The shell and finish exhibit very little damage, with the most severe being a few small dings and some light surface rust. The blue/ black finish is approx. 90% intact. The liner is 80% complete but is missing the liner crown adjustment string and a few finger tips. The top of the crown (outside) has a stamp "GBR. Jsrael 1916". The leather liner is a little bit fragile and has a few scuffs and rips to it. The leather chinstrap is a high quality reproduction. This helmet would be the perfect addition to any collection. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Good Luck Bidding, and LOOK at my other auctions.
I have added a few more pictures of the frontplate. When I removed the frontplate, I discovered that there in is a "8" stamped into the helmet on the outside. The stamp is located just above the front liner rivet. There is also a very noticable discoloration on the helmet where the wappen has been resting. Please feel feeto email me with any questions. I'll try my best to answer them. I do believe that this frontplate is original to the helmet, as indicated by the wear on both. |
