ONCE THESE ARE GONE - THEY'RE GONE!!!   Our life-like 10 inch Brook Trout in life-like vibrant colors, hand carved from strong and durable Balsa wood and then mounted on a bed of river rock carved from Mahogany wood. The trout can be removed from the bed of rock and be made into a fishing decoy. We have received GREAT feedback from anglers that have converted this to a decoy and used while ice fishing. This type of fine detail is VERY hard to find in hand painted decoys today. Both the trout and the river rocks are carved completely by hand with mallet and chisel - NO POWER TOOLS such as Dremel tools or grinders are used as with most carvings these days.(see close up photo of the carver adding the detail to the fins) Each carving is done simply and beautifully by hand in the time honored tradition. This ensures that no two will be exactly alike. The painting is also done by hand. Very small custom made brushes are used to add the spots and fin lines. Look at the close-up photo of the eye! Truly amazing detail at an amazing price... Even the full retail price of $119.95 is below anything else you'll find of the same high quality. The trout shown in the photo is of the same quality of any of the others that are ready for purchased. You will not be shipped one that has any less attention to detail. The hand carved river rock is carved from one piece of wood. The bottom of the carving is left unfinished so the detail of the grain can be seen. (see photo) The river rock base in the photo is slightly smaller than the average based that will be shipped with this sale. (We always like to show you a little bit lesser size/quality in the photos than the one you will recieve to make you pleasantly supprised when your package arrives.)
