Beautiful handcarved wolf. Lot of detail for a relatively small piece. The artist has painstakingly etched the fur on the body although a smooth finish would have been much faster. The open mouth and teeth, plus carving the stand and the animal from one block of wood takes a high degree of skill. The seperation of all four legs and tail make it a difficult carving. It is quite unusual for a small piece to show such detail. The wood block is about 8.5 inch by 8 inch by 2.5 inch.
