Brazilian Cherry rates at more than twice the hardness of teak, and has been used in decking, playground equipment, railroad crossties, marine and other outdoor applications for many years due to its density and superior weather resistant qualities. If the grey tone is preferred, no maintenance is necessary.   Some owners of teak and brazilian cherry furniture like to maintain the original color, and to protect outdoor furniture against stains and mildew.  The proper way to maintain the color is with the application of a high quality teak cleaner and teak protector, which are available in most high end outdoor furniture stores and mail order catalogs.  However, we also offer this product - as usual, at a significant discount to the price it is available elsewhere.  To find it, just click on "Accessories for Oil Rockers" on the left menu.   If using these care products, you would first clean your furniture with Teak Cleaner in order to remove oil, stains, and discolorations from your wood, and then treat it with Teak Protector, which seals the wood against further discoloration and mildew.  This combined treatment usually lasts a season.  But let me say it one more time: this premium quality weatherproof wood does not require any treatment at all - treating the wood is for those who want to maintain the original color and look of the wood.    Why do I want a Weatherproof Furniture Piece?
