This is a nice antique grinder/coffee mill. The wood pieces are put together with dovetailing. The drawer is a "snug" fit.....needs to be beeswaxed or planed down a bit for easier removal. The knob is off-center adding to its character. It was nailed on and then the nail is bent down on the inside to keep it from coming off. As you can see in the picture very small square head nails were used to attach the bottom. The lid doesn't quite close all the way..............maybe there is suppose to be that small gap....don't know. There is also a bit of rusting on the cast iron. Handles turns freely. I used it only for decoration. I didn't actually grind anything with it. It measures 6" square and is about 11" high to top of wooden handle. |
