This one-of-a-kind drumstick sculpture, ROCK STAR, is created by American artist Jerry Szczepanski. Thirty years of his musical performance inspired and and is part of this amazing creation. Representional objects within the art peice portray the artist's life before and during the phase of being a professional musician. Growing up on a small northern Minnesota farm and doing hard physical labor from the age 10 affected the elements intrinsic in the design of ROCK STAR. Drumsticks used by the artist date back to 1962, including stick brands by eight different drumstick manufacturers. The guitar is mobile, and its string represent 6 phases of the artist life. They are replaced with barbed wire, a rosary, hay baler twine, potato sack string, a rubber band and a guitar string. The wire sculpture of the drummer is of stainless steel wire along with a Zildjian cymbal. The drumstick that form the star and the backdrop were used by the artist in professional performances over a 30 year period. The dimensions of the work of art are: height:8 feet, width:10-feet, depth:5-feet. The wire drummer is 4 feet high. This work should appeal to serious art collectors and music enthusiasts.
