Like all of the others (Indian.French, British Dr Livingstone) it is a real Pith Helmet It is made from the Pith Trees grown in the Northern Part of Vietnam .The Material can sustain Heavy Sunlight as well Rain. The Vietamese learned the art of  Pith Helmet Making 100 years ago from the French during there occupation. They are a very light ,pratical  hat with a Leather  Chin Strap which is handy on windy days allowing freedom for four arms instead of holding your hat on.
