The thermostat allows you to set different temperatures at different times of the day! The large blue back lit display sets our thermostat apart from the competition! Do you really want to install an ordinary thermostat when you can have one that looks as good as this ? What are the major benefits to using the Heatmiser thermostat ?  The Heatmiser thermostat incorporates a feature called Optimum Start. This intelligent feature allows the thermostat to automatically calculate the amount of heat up time required in order for your home to be at temperature in time for your first programmed comfort level. This "heat up" time will vary, so throughout the year  the thermostat will automatically adjust the amount of heat up time ensuring maximum energy savings. I have an old mechanical thermostat and a seperate time clock. Can I still use this ? You need to check the wiring behind your existing thermostat. Providing that you have at least 3 wires, not counting the earth, then yes - you can upgrade to this thermostat. You would simply switch your existing time clock into "Heating Constant" our Heatmiser PRT will then take over the control of your heating. Your existing timeclock will still control hot water. So what is the benefit of a programmable thermostat ? You can set different temperatures throughout the day to match the occupancy of the home. For example, warm in the morning when you are getting ready for work, then lower throughout the day whilst you are working. Then warmer again in the afternoon and finally lower throughout the night whilst you are sleeping. This is the most efficient way of running your heating. I have returned home early, can I override the program easily? Yes you can. Simply use the Up/Down arrow keys to change the SET temperature. The large LCD will show this new temperature for you.
