Your mail contains information that you don't even want your own family and neighbors to know, why would you leave it so easily available for a total stranger to take? ____________________________________ USPS APPROVED The Postmaster General has designated that approved locking mailbox designs must be a minimum of 10" wide to accommodate a Priority Mail envelope without folding. Therefore, any locking mailbox narrower than 10" is not approved and your mail carrier is not obligated to deliver to that mailbox. (ALL of our mailboxes meet this requirement.) Made entirely of heavy-duty reinforced aluminum, these roadside mailboxes feature both a FRONT and REAR access locking door. (post sold separately) The front and rear door design provides maximum safety for YOU. If your mailbox is next to a high traffic street, it allows you to retreive your mail from the back of your mailbox instead of having to step out onto a busy and dangerous roadway to collect your mail. Each unit includes an out-going mail tray, a lock with two (2) keys (keyed alike), an adjustable red signal flag, and comes in (4) colors: Black, Green, White, or Silver. If you do not feel the need for high security and just want a larger updated mailbox, we also sell a non-locking latch for this mailbox in our Store. The front retrieval door measures 6 inches; incoming mail is deposited through a 10" x 1-3/4" slot; the out-going mail tray is also 10" x 1-3/4"; and the rear door is full size measuring 12 inches. There is an extended ledge below the delivery door that prohibits hand entry into the mail bin below. (see diagram) Overall Dimensions: 12.5"W x 12.75"H x 17"D (25 lbs) This mailbox can be mounted on a matching post (sold in our store); or, by removing the signal flag this mailbox can be installed into a masonry wall or brick column that will match your home's exterior decor. The brick mason can be instructed to leave access for using both doors. If you choose to mount your mailbox on an attractive matching post, you have the choice of: bolt mounted post - where the post is bolted to a cement pad or sidewalk - OR - a matching in-ground mounted post that is recommended be set into a cement filled hole.
