Of being enveloped by the hammock sides.    Different types of hammocks use different ways of dealing with the sag and side pull.    Rope hammocks are very heavy.  They require solid pieces of wood called “spreader bars” to separate the sides and reduce the sag.  The result is a plane like surface. The sides do not close in, however, the hammock tips very easily.  You will need to enter and exit a rope hammock very carefully or it will toss you out.  If you don’t lie in the center of the rope hammock, it will tip over.  The spreader bars make the hammock less safe.   Fabric hammocks also have considerable sag and side pull.  At Banana Lounger, we have invented a hammock accessory called a “pillow sham spreader”.  It reduces the sag and side pull and makes our hammock safer and far more comfortable than any other hammock.  The pillow sham spreader attaches to the harness of the hammock.  You simply insert your own pillow into the sham.  The pillow sham lifts and separates the head of the hammock and makes a soft place to rest your head.  The pillow determines the amount of spread you choose to use.  The standard pillow width is 20”.  The same size as our pillow sham spreader.  You can insert a standard, queen, full, king or body size pillow.       More about our hammock  Children did not work in its manufacture. The hammock is made from one solid piece of fabric providing both strength and safety.  The weft has been removed at either end of the fabric.  Eighteen tassels are formed to attach to the cotton cord forming the harness or end of the hammock.  Braiding the cotton cord finishes the end of the hammock.  This provides a very strong place to attach your rope.    This hammock will fade slightly.  However, cleaning is as simple as taking it to the dry cleaners to restore it to new condition.   Since the hammock weighs only six pounds, it is easy to take along, as you will want to use it often.  It folds to the size of a large telephone book.  Hanging requires a minimum distance of 12 to 14 feet.  We include hanging instructions with your order.  The easiest place to install your hammock may be indoors.  It is great for watching TV or reading.  Imagine yourself so relaxed in your new hammock.  And if it is not for you, what a great gift for any occasion: Fathers Day; birthdays; house warming; valentines day; Christmas; Mothers Day.  Place your bid today.    You won't need two trees the right distance apart   Many people believe that they must have two trees perfectly distanced in order to hang their hammock.  Actually, there are hundreds of places.  You can use your hammock inside your house, out on the deck, by the pool, camping, at the beach or even on your boat.  You may hang your hammock between two posts, on your porch or on a hammock stand.  If you are installing your hammock using screw-eye hook hardware, be sure that the surface you are using will hold the hook securely.  We will include hanging instructions with your order.    As you shop for a hammock there are lots of choices.
