The cartridge is white with gray elements that glow bright red when turned on. Plug is 3 flat and 1 round on the shorter edge of the cartridge, compatible with all current Designer line of Jenn-Air cooktops using cartridges with plugs along the short edge. I remodeled my kitchen and family purchased me a new cooktop for my birthday! The Halogen Cartridge heats and cools instantly. I have to say that I will miss the Halogen way of cooking! There are no marks or scratches. A new retail halogen cartridge is $500.
