Houttuynia cordata  Chameleon plant Houttuynia is a great ground cover to use around the outside edges of your pond. The foliage grows in a dense mat, crowding out unwanted weeds and softening the rocky edges. Tiny white flowers adorn this plant in late spring/early summer. Foliage is variegated white, green, pink and red with 1-1/2 inch heart shaped leaves that creep along the ground. Chamelean plant grows only 6 inches tall and has a running spread. Can be grown submerged with no more than 2 inches of water over the crown, or along the pond edge. Houttuynia grows well in full sun or partial shade. Propagate easily by division or cuttings.
