Dual Zone technology, located beneath the heating element, reduces odor, keeps oil clean, and prevents food from burning, while its extra-large 3-pound (4-liter) food capacity fries food evenly and completely every time. In addition, an adjustable thermostat with an indicator light provides the control needed to fry foods according to individual preferences. And to prevent the release of oil vapors and odors in the kitchen, a permanent mesh filter is built into the unit's stainless-steel lid. The deep fryer's ingenious oil-drain system makes draining and recycling cooking oil easy. Simply open the door on the front of the unit and drain oil through the tube into a storage container. The unit also provides an array of features designed towards safe operation: a removable cool-touch handle for lifting or lowering the frying basket, a magnetic cord with a patented condensation shield that detaches from the fryer if accidentally pulled; and a viewing window for monitoring the entire frying process at a glance. The heating element and permanent mesh filter are removable, and the bowl, frying basket, and lid clean up easily by hand or in the dishwasher.
