Please note, the solder that holds refrigeration lines together becomes brittle as it ages. When older refrigeration units are shipped on a truck, there is movement which may cause the brittle solder to crack or break and cause a refrigerant leak. The repair and recharge of the unit is typically less than $100. Refrigerant costs technicians approximately $6/pound.
