Background Stand This is an Excellent Full-sized 10'X12' background stand. Yet with the lightweight aluminum construction and padded carry bag, the entire support set is very portable and weighs a manageable 11 lbs. Both of the tripod supports extend from 39 1/2" up to 9'10" to be exact and the crossbar comes in three 4' sections . The entire set folds up into a rugged padded carry bag measuring just over 4' in length. There are three separate "pockets" in the bag, one for each tripod stand and one for the three cross poles. Each cross pole section also comes with a protective plastic sleeve. In addition to supporting the crossbar for a backdrop stand, each tripod stand can also be used as a light stand with an industry standard 16mm male top plug. Each tripod stand measures 9'10" in the tallest configuration and 9'4" with the legs spread as wide as possible. The crossbar uses low profile end caps matching the 1 1/4" diameter of the crossbar allowing you to mount the new Assia rolled backgrounds directly onto the crossbar. For example, the 10'X20' size (actually about 9'x18' after shrinkage) weighs 6.4lbs. In comparison, typical 10'X20' muslins weigh about 4lbs. This material is over 50% heavier and is a premium product. It is not as thick or stiff as a canvas type background, but is noticeably more substantial than than "bed sheet" type muslins. Additionally, premium dyes are used for these muslins resulting in rich well saturated colors. The colors are vibrant and do not appear "washed out". Because of the dyes used and the bright colors, these muslins are Not machine washable. All of the sides of the backdrop are stitched to avoid unraveling and a 4" rod pocket is sewn into one end. The design of the crossbar makes it very sturdy for holding extra weight. Because of this, it is not adjustable to smaller widths and is a full 12' wide. Please make sure that you have a full 12' of space in which to use this stand. Other stands at eBay are smaller and adjustable but typically hold less weight. We sold stands of this type in the past but received complaints of sag in the crossbar. Since our best selling backdrops are in the 10x20' size and because our backdrops use a heavier material which is a full 6lbs in weight, we feel this stand is the best match for the backdrops we offer.
