Antique ORIENTAL BIRD CARRY CAGE/BASKET It could have been used for small animals also! Whatever it was used for, it has been "used"!  I did not clean it, I just wiped it inside and out because it is a very old piece.  It shows normal wear for its age and there is a crack around the rim; however, I cann't tell  if it goes through to the inside.  It's in good condition and quite sturdy.  It has four extended feet and measures approx. 9 1/2" tall (without the handle). and has a diameter of approx. 13" at the widest part. From the pictures, you can see the lacquer on the outside and how, over the years, some of it has collected on the bottom.   The door on top that slides open and close is a little stiff, but it works (see pictures). If you are looking for an unique original antique or you are a collector this is a wonderful display or conversation piece.  I've only seen one other one and it wasn't in as good condition as this is.
