Gorgeous, Antique Men's Sterling Silver and Turquoise ring. Hand-tooled, Rectangular Face with Teardrop-Shaped Turquoise Inlay, Flanked by Silver "Oak Leaf" Design on Either Side. Artist Signed "R. Plate," ca Late-1940s.I originally purchased this piece in early 2001 at an auction/estate sale here in New York City. At the time, it was independently appraised to be worth $450 - $500.  Note interior stamp "Handmade R. Plate" behind front of ring: I'm told Plate was an American jewelry designer, whose work was sold primarily in the Southwest in the late-1940s and early 1950s. To the immediate right of the artist's signature is a figure or symbol I am unable to provide any additional information about; it may be the lot number of the piece, a date, or a reference to the location where the ring was originally made or sold.
