A great solid brass gooseneck desk lamp. Maybe a banker's lamp with a cased green glass shade. The shade holder is amazing- it has an acanthus wreath going around it and there are three brass screws to hold the shade. Before the shade holer on the gooseneck part it says, "The ALMOND MFT Co. Pat Jan 1, 1895. Brooklyn, Mar. 25 AUG. 9, 1890, NY, USA." So, I am not sure what the exact date of this lamp is, but it is certainly early- 19th or very early 20th century. It is in great vintage condition with great patina. Weighted bottom. It looks like it had a pull chain but there isn't a pull any more. Now there is a switch on the cord. The cord has been replaced and the lamp works, but you should still have it tested and maybe replaced. Some minor dents/dings to the brass base. The original green case-glass shade has a chip and a crack. So, if you would like, I am throwing in a white shade that is in perfect condition. It does have some paint spots and I'll leave that for you to take off. (You can have both.) Personally, I really love the green shade and the crack is only on one side, so I would just turn it around and use that one. I think that the pull chain was removed to prevent the lamp from being pulled at the shade which seems a bit top heavy. When the neck is straightened it stands 25 1/4" tall. Base is about 5 1/2" across.

I think the cheapest way to mail this will be in a flat-rate box. I think I can safely get it in the largest which is $12.95 +2 for insurance, so just about $15. I am also willing to send it by the buyer's choice.
