An Original Four-Part, Twenty-Three Page How-to Build Article / Plan of the type pictured below. Not all pages are shown. It was removed from 1957 magazines.
Finished cottage is 26.8 x 22.8 ft. with an 8 x 18 ft. screened porch. The author of this article used cinder blocks for the outside walls because they were fireproof and provided an exterior and interior wall in one installation.
Part 1 - Spacious and comfortable, you can built it yourself, including a fireplace, snack bar, sleeping loft, railed balcony and screened porch.
Part 2 - Erecting the walls and rafter framing, partition and loft framing and building the fireplace.
Part 3 - Installing electric cables and outlets; flashing the chimney; building the screened porch and how to apply the roof boards, asphalt shingles and exterior siding.
Part 4 - How to build the kitchen counters, cabinets and bookcase-snack bar which complete the cottage. If you wish to enlarge the cottage now or at some future date, plans for building an additional room are included.
