. Your bid is for 1 sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) seedling that is 6” to 10” tall. This seedling is from our 2007 crop. It is 13 months old. The picture was taken on 1/18/08.    This seedling is grown in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California near the ancient groves of giant sequoias. It is grown outdoors and conditioned to wind, heat, and cold. Sequoias have very tender feeder roots that are broken with the slightest touch. The plant depends on these fragile little roots for hydration and sustenance. Breaking these feeder roots harms the tree so I only ship them in the containers with roots and soil intact preserving the tender roots. The tree can be easily removed from the container without harming the roots and planted with the root ball intact.     Giant sequoias grow in all climate zones. Sequoias are not drought resistant. You must be prepared to water the tree to get it started and during times of drought thereafter.    I will include a detailed information sheet to help with the care and maintenance of the sequoia.
