When the liquid temperature is over 131 F, the overload relay will trip and automatically stop the pump. Restarting will be attempted when the liquid temperature drops below 104 F. The motor has inbuilt thermal overload. The Walrus pump has an anti-cycling feature which prevents the pump from continuous start-stop when there is a dripping faucet or minor leak in the system. The walrus has a self-priming function which is able to pump water from the depth down to 25ft. However, on installations with suction lifts over 3ft, a good quality foot valve should be fitted.
